I love science-fiction.

Ever since I flipped through the first pages of Space Demons, I have been enthralled by the possibilities afforded by the development of computing technologies. I used to imagine all the high-tech gadgets we're going to have...A computer in everyone's pocket! Robot Butlers! Artificial Intelligence! Virtual Reality!

Hong Kong was the perfect place to grow up if you're a techie, and did I take advantage. There were consumer electronic stores on every corner; you were guaranteed to find me there every afternoon looking at the newest gadgets. I built my first PC on the cheap when I was 12, something I still do to this day. I took apart appliances and electronics, since they were relatively inexpensive. I was fascinated by the tech we used day-to-day.

Some recent books I've read: Life 3.0, Homo Deus, Soonish, Tell the Machine Goodnight

I love science-fiction.

Ever since I flipped through the first pages of Space Demons, I have been enthralled by the possibilities afforded by the development of computing technologies. Over the years, I have continued to consume news and literature on the latest technological developments. I bring this into my work by imagining how tech could be brought into everyday life in new and novel ways.

I bring Sci-fi to life.

Seeing how technology is being applied to our products, I began noticing white spaces where it isn't being used. What if we did?

I was lucky enough to go to a school that had a product design track. For my senior project, I designed a desk with a built in modular computer. I was convinced that it would be the perfect product for every home: who doesn't need a computer, especially one where you can swap out parts for the latest upgrades? That was the genesis of my pursuit of becoming a Product designer. I wanted to to life things that doesn't yet exist.

However, I needed a framework to help crystallize my imagination. To keep it in check so it doesn't run too wild.

Design is the tool that gives my imagination constraints.

It provides a set of parameters that I can create imaginatively within. While I am optimistic about technology's promise, through the lends of design thinking I can accurately predict how technology could be used for the better. With design, Icancreate objects with a purpose.

I learned to use Brand Strategy to create a Brand that is memorable and authentic.
I design through the lens of user-centric research & design to create for real people.
I use prototyping techniques to realize physical and digital objects.
I tie physical objects to computers, creating novel digital experiences.
